Well, It's time for day 19 of my 30 Day ART Challenge. (I know, I'm getting a little further behind that I want.)
Here's what I was working on last night. (Neil provided the dialogue!)
I must say... I actually enjoyed working on this one. And it's a perfect example of sometimes not knowing where I'm going... but having an idea where I'm gonna end up. When I finished the inks, and started on the coloring... I had a pretty good idea about colors / shading and such. But when I started my first layer of shading... that all flew right out the window. I ended up tossing an entire layer of shading, because I just couldn't get the right feel for it. So I started again. My second attempt went much better. I think it still ended up a bit 'darker' than I was anticipating... but in the end result I'm still pretty happy with it.
As a marketing piece... I'm diggin' it! I might need to work on getting the words on the left to 'pop, pop' more against the background... but I think I'll have that figured out by the time I am ready to sell these prints!
Oh, and here's the finished inks for this image as well...
Well, that's about it for this time.
Back to the drawing board tonight!!!
See ya' all next time!
